E1: Team A Combine

Watch on OFTV

Host Kazumi welcomes coaches Hagen Smith and Falyn Fonoimoana as the first six competitors, Piper Quinn, Tasmyn Rose, Molly Stewart, Chris Hahn, Justyn Foxx, and Alicia Waldner, arrive to compete for spots on two teams.

The combine opens with a limbo challenge that quickly gets everyone laughing. Molly dominates with 15 points, while Piper, Tasmyn, Chris, and Justyn stay close behind. Alicia finishes the round trailing the pack, leaving plenty of ground to make up before the volleyball begins.

The season’s first volleyball challenge, “You Got Served,” tests each competitor’s accuracy as they aim their serves at a bullseye. Easier said than done, since they’re battling gusty beach winds the entire time.

Chris delivers the top serving performance, finishing tied with Molly atop the leaderboard.

A beach volleyball trivia tiebreaker settles things, with Chris earning the overall win and first choice of coach. He joins Team Falyn, while Hagen drafts Tasmyn, Justyn, and Alicia. Falyn rounds out her roster with Molly and Piper.

E2: Team B Combine

A second wave of competitors arrives as Julia Pic, Trent Williams, Allie Oops, Nathan Webb, Adrianna Eaves, and Katy Jo compete for spots on teams led by coaches Avery Poppinga and Alaina Chacon.

The combine gets underway with an unconventional beach ball inflating challenge, where speed matters just as much as lung capacity.

Trent edges out Nathan to claim the win, immediately establishing himself as one of the strongest competitors on the beach.

Gif: Katy Jo serves a volleyball cleanly through a suspended hoop during the Team B serving challenge as the other competitors watch from behind the net.

The first volleyball challenge asks competitors to serve through hoops suspended above the net, rewarding both accuracy and consistency.

Despite her years of volleyball experience, Julia can’t find the target, while Trent builds on his impressive start to win the combine.

Trent chooses Avery, while Alaina drafts Nathan and Katy. Avery rounds out her team with Adrianna and Allie, leaving Julia to join Team Alaina as the draft comes to a close.

E3: Round 1

With the teams officially set, Perfect Set shifts into head-to-head competition. Coaches Falyn and Alaina square off against Hagen and Avery as the players take on “Balls Out,” a fast-paced challenge that requires pairs to keep three volleyballs in the air for as long as possible.

Two teams are knocked out almost immediately, leaving Nathan and Chris as the last pair standing for Falyn and Avery’s side.

Hagen objects that they’re catching the ball instead of volleying it, but Kazumi lets play continue. Moments later, Chris’s misplayed pass ends the rally, sending Falyn and Avery’s teams into a sudden-death elimination match.

Gif:Host Kazumi blows the whistle to begin the “Balls Out” challenge as the remaining teams prepare to compete.
Team Pink huddles together before the elimination match, chanting, “Win on 3. One, two, three, WIN!” before throwing their hands into the air.

Facing elimination, Team Pink (Piper, Molly, and Chris) takes on Team Purple (Nathan, Julia, and Katy Jo) in a best-of-three showdown to stay in the game.

Purple takes the opening set before Pink battles back to tie the match and send it to a third set. Julia takes over from the service line, stringing together four straight points to put Purple in control.

Pink eventually fights its way onto the board, but Purple closes out the match to become the first team to advance. Sadly, it’s the end of the road for Piper, Molly, and Chris.

E4: Round 2

Watch on OFTV

With just three teams remaining, the race for the $50,000 grand prize heats up in Beach Pong, where competitors eliminate opponents by landing volleyballs into their bucket pyramids.

Orange and Purple initially team up against Yellow, believing they’re the weakest remaining squad. Yellow flips the script by targeting Orange instead, knocking them out and forcing a head-to-head showdown with Purple.

Yellow keeps the momentum going, protecting its remaining buckets while taking control against Purple to earn the first spot in the championship.

Nathan’s throw bounces out of a bucket during the Beach Pong challenge, and he laughs after narrowly missing the target.
Host Kazumi gives a thumbs down to signal a missed shot during the Beach Pong challenge.

Orange and Purple meet in a winner-take-all, best-of-three volleyball match for the final spot in the championship. Orange wins the opening set, but Purple fights back behind strong play from Nathan and Julia, tying the match and sending it to a third set.

The final set features several tense rallies, highlighted by Nathan’s spectacular diving save to keep Purple alive.

The momentum doesn’t last, however, as Katy’s service error gives Orange the deciding point and sends them to the championship against Yellow. So long, Nathan, Julia, and Katy Jo.

E5: Round 3

Watch on OFTV

With only six competitors left, Perfect Set shakes up the competition once again. The coaches step aside as the remaining players are randomly paired into new teams: Tasmyn and Jason on Yellow, Trent and Alicia on Purple, and Allie and Adrianna on Orange.

The new duos are immediately put to the test in “Beach Baggage,” a relay challenge that combines teamwork with volleyball fundamentals.

The winning team advances straight to the championship, leaving the other two battling for the final spot.

Allie Oops pulls a flag from a tote bag, waves it in front of her face, and laughs as she asks, “What color is it, you guys?”
Jason dives across the finish line holding a beach umbrella during the “Beach Baggage” relay, saying, “I thought jumping over the line could be the one-second difference.”

Orange and Purple meet in a winner-take-all, best-of-three volleyball match for the final spot in the championship. Orange wins the opening set, but Purple fights back behind strong play from Nathan and Julia, tying the match and sending it to a third set.

The momentum doesn’t last, however, as Katy’s service error gives Orange the deciding point and sends them to the championship against Yellow. So long, Nathan, Julia, and Katy Jo.

E6: Final Round

Watch on OFTV

With just four competitors remaining, Perfect Set raises the stakes one last time. The teams are dissolved, leaving Tasmyn, Trent, Jason, and Alicia to compete as individuals in “Set for Impact.”

Temporary alliances form almost immediately, but Jason’s plan to work with Tasmyn quickly unravels when she and Trent eliminate him instead. Alicia is the next to go, leaving Tasmyn and Trent as the final two competitors.

Tasmyn wins the challenge and earns the right to choose her partner for the championship. She picks Trent, reuniting with Coach Hagen for one last match.

Jason reacts after being eliminated, saying, “I feel betrayed, and I was betrayed.”
Tasmyn Rose raises the $50,000 winner’s check above her head while Trent Williams kisses the championship trophy after winning Perfect Set Season 1.

The championship pits Tasmyn and Trent against Jason and Alicia in a best-of-three showdown for the $50,000 grand prize.

From the opening serve, Tasmyn and Trent are in complete control. They win the match in straight sets, capping off a dominant performance that leaves little doubt about who deserves the title.

After weeks of challenges, shifting alliances, and elimination matches, Tasmyn and Trent emerge victorious.

E7: Coach vs. Coach

Watch on OFTV

Fresh off their championship win, Tasmyn and Trent return for one final challenge, this time on opposite sides of the net. Tasmyn teams up with Coach Avery, while Trent joins Coach Hagen in a bonus match worth $10,000.

Hagen and Trent jump out to an early lead, but the momentum comes to a crashing halt when Trent appears to injure his hamstring and is forced to leave the match.

Coach Alaina steps in as Hagen’s new partner.

Host Kazumi introduces the bonus coach-versus-coach match, saying, “But this time, it’s different.”
Hagen Smith sets the ball for Tasmyn Rose, who spikes the winning point before the pair celebrates with a chest bump after winning the bonus match.

Hagen quickly adapts to the unexpected lineup change, and he and Alaina find their rhythm almost immediately.

The all-pro pairing takes the opening set and carries that momentum throughout the second.

Tasmyn and Avery keep the match competitive, but Hagen and Alaina pull away with a series of creative trick shots to win the bonus round and take home the $10,000 bonus prize.
